Pat is a passionate property aficionado and investor, having bought his first investment property in Auckland at the age of 21. An engineer by qualification, Pat jumped into the world of real estate at a very early age, and has completed several residential developments and property trades. Pat noticed a major gap in the market when he switched over property managers several times but still could never find a property manager who understood the mentality of investors and their needs. As a result, Pat established The Rent House in 2018 and there has been no looking back ever since. Melanie is a truly dedicated professional having been in the property management industry since 2003.

With a wealth of experience behind her she leads the team at The Rent House, always striving to ensure we offer a premium service and to achieve above expectation, positive results.

Melanie is driven by changing the property manager stereotype and the industry. She understands the importance of customer service, communication, attention to detail and the ability to think outside the box to achieve the best outcome.

Upon meeting Tomek, you immediately recognise the strong communication skills he holds with a great ability to share knowledge, add value and build trust with those he works with. He is proud of his business analyst degree, majoring in finance and accounting, which has aided in his mission to assist many people with their investments. Tomek is a well-rounded individual with his previous roles including being the CEO of NZ's largest hair and beauty franchise, director of a digital media agency that he founded from scratch, a teacher, a football coach, a movie usher, a homeless shelter volunteer, kiwifruit pick packer, hospitality event host, gourmet hot dog maker, IRD tax advisor, DVD recommender, and sheet metal fabricator. This varied and vast background gives Tomek the ability to truly relate to people of all walks of life and these life experiences have taught him the power of having many skill sets, with a core emphasis on building strong relationships.  Tomek heads up our Waikato property management team and is passionate in helping investors reach their property goals and aiding them in building a property portfolio that provides future wealth creation. Robyn is a true asset to The Rent House team having worked in the industry since 2001, with many years spent working to transform problematic and underperforming rent rolls in both New Zealand and Australia. Mark Ramos is a seasoned quality assurance and quality control expert with over seven years’ industry experience.

 

He has worked in several large firms in quality control and customer service and enjoys dealing with different types of people and handling challenges.

 

Mark loves travelling, photography and outdoor activities such as mountain climbing and camping.

 

Nadine has a degree in accounting and previously worked in the banking and insurance industries for reputed firms. Nadine is also a Certified Accounting Technician and constantly works to develop her vast skill set.

Hands-on experience when owning residential rentals has given Janette Hunter a solid understanding of the demands of property management.

 

Since 2007, Janette has managed the investment portfolios of astute clients, which gives her an extensive understanding of homeowners requiring her services. When Janette started out in the property industry she qualified as a real estate agent, which, at the time, was required to become a property manager. Janette's career path took a new turn into residential property sales but property management was where she really wanted to work.

 

Her drive comes from seeing clients achieve success from their own investment properties and she takes her role very seriously. Every property is managed as if it were her own and Janette focuses on selecting quality tenants.

 

With high expectations, Janette expects tenants to look after properties to her standards. She develops a rapport with property owners and tenants, which enables her to proactively monitor all aspects of her role, from property inspections and maintenance, to rent payments. Being approachable and maintaining good communication avoids problems and should there be any issues, Janette can quickly resolve the situation. Landlords determine the level of communication they require and Janette works to their individual requirements.

 

Lauren is a Senior Property Manager at The Rent House and manages a portfolio of residential properties and apartments in Auckland.

 

Lauren is passionate about Property Management with over 19 years experience in the industry and having been an investment property owner herself, she has the insight into knowing exactly what her clients require.

 

It is Lauren's goal to ensure clients receive a premium service which she offers through our "Service Guarantee" and also to be committed to achieving the best results in managing one of the biggest assets her clients own.

 

Over the past 19 years she has worked in all areas of real estate, starting out as an administrator and then moving into sales. Her heart was in property management and early on she decided to join the property management team and has worked her way up to the position she is in today.

 

Lauren strongly believes that residential property management is not just about looking after tenants or collecting rent but is about having your property, whether it a family home or part of an investment portfolio, managed by a qualified, professional property manager in order to obtain the best return possible.

 

Shanna is a confident and positive communicator which she has demonstrated in her previous roles of 13 years in a school office and then nearly two years as a rental administrator. These roles and skills lead her into her current role as an assistant property manager which she is thriving in, learning the intense specifics of a quality property management service and providing a great support to Lauren, one of our senior property managers.

 

Outside of work, Shanna has a passion for speedway, sport, shopping as well as spending quality time with her amazing family and friends. The newest member of her family is an adorable Bengal kitten named Rocky

 

Alex is a commendable personality who, time and time again proves that a keen willingness to grow and commitment reap rewards. Originally starting with The Rent House as a letting agent, Alex quickly proved himself and progressed on to being a property manager with his own portfolio.  

 

Alex’s clients truly value his approachable and friendly personality and his commitment to achieving positive outcomes without delay. When you deal with Alex, you know you will be respected and given the utmost priority.

 

Previously Alex has worked in the retail and loan broker industries and brings a wealth of skills to the company and our clients including excellent communication and language skills, speaking fluent English, Mandarin and Japanese! Alex enjoys meeting and getting to know our varied client base and finding out their needs. He gets great satisfaction from bringing to his clients' positive solutions that put them at ease.

 

Outside of work, Alex enjoys many hobbies including cooking and baking, gardening and small DIY, model kit building and cherishes his pet tropical fish and cat. 

 

 

 

 

Jo has over 25 years of experience in Property Management and her portfolio includes properties Auckland-wide.

 

Jo is a veteran in the property management industry and continues to enjoy the diversity of the role and of dealing with people from all walks of life. She gets great satisfaction out of matching great tenants to great properties.

 

Jo is extremely organized, reliable and hardworking, ensuring landlords are kept informed and up to date at all times and that her tenants are treated fairly and respectfully. Working with Jo, you know you are in experienced hands that you can trust.

 

Jhanica (Nica) has a business degree and previous experience in call centre and customer service work making her a great asset as an office administrator to the team at The Rent House. Nica has a great connection with the team, supporting with daily tasks and strives to give our clients a great customer service experience over the phone – she is the friendly voice you are greeted with on the other end of our office phone line! She self describes the team as professional and friendly, which are attributes she shares and helps her thrive in this role.

 

 

 

Lana brings a wealth of experience for The Rent House team, with a background in real estate and business development. Lana's multifaceted skillset and proven success in market analysis, negotation and client satisfaction distinguish her in the industry. With a client-centric approach, Lana always prioritises the needs and goals of clients, backed by an unwavering dedication to professional development. 

Lana's role is that of Tenancy Manager, working alongside Senior Property Manager Jo Cavanagh. Lana covers many of the on-the-road functions for the team as well as being a reliable port of call for tenants. Lana has an excellent eye for detail, a calm and collected approach to problem-solving and understands various walks of life which makes her an approachable but firm Tenancy Manager.

During her personal time, Lana delights in visiting family and friends, embarking on motorcycle rides and exploring the scenic offerings of the country.
A devoted mother, she takes pride in her two adult children who are set to complete university shortly and then venture off to explore the world. Lana cherishes her role as a very proud mum.
